Read a Book (My opinion of CNN story)
Wow…Tony Harris and those parents need to get theirselfs big ol’ grape drink enemas. Talk about uptight.
I agree that, in the context of the BET programming period, the video was pretty benign, and in line with the shit that passes for music these days. What I don’t like about the whole thing is that the authors of the vid are dumbing the message down with sub-par lyrics, music and animation.
Instead of reaching out to kids (who think life revolves around a set of cheap-ass spinners or grills) with something that lame, they should be challenging they tiny brains and stimulating they tiny senses with something that elicits growth of knowledge.
Imagine a kid who was never given anything to read more challenging than that first first-grade reading book, or math book; never given anything to listen to but Barney music. How smart do you think he’d be by the time he turned twenty?
There’s gotta be someone out there smarter and more creative than the guy who did that video.
